The honest part: this is a trial, not free forever

Most "free Minecraft server hosting" is free forever and pays for itself with your time: queues at peak hours, servers that sleep the moment everyone logs off, and ads on every page. That model works — Aternos has run on it for over a decade — but it's a trade, not a gift.

We made the opposite trade. Your free server runs at full speed with none of that, for 2 days. It exists so you can find out what a paid-grade server feels like — invite your friends, install some mods, break things in the console — before spending anything. If you want $0 forever instead, that's a legitimate choice: we compared the free-forever hosts honestly here.

When the 2 days are up

The server pauses and your world is kept for 7 days. Upgrade to any plan — from $6.99/month for 2 GB — and you keep the same world, settings and join address, moved onto reserved resources with no player having to relearn an address. Or download your world backup from the panel and take it anywhere. Either way, nothing you built is held hostage.

Frequently asked questions

Is SpawnFort's free Minecraft server hosting really free?

Yes — for 2 days, with no credit card and no payment details of any kind. It's a full server (2 GB RAM, up to 5 players) on the same panel paid plans use, not a throttled demo. We're upfront that it's a trial, not free-forever hosting: after 2 days the server pauses, and your world is kept for 7 more days in case you upgrade.

Do I need a credit card to start the free server?

No. You register with an email address or a Google account, pick the free trial in the create wizard, and the server deploys. There is nothing to cancel afterwards, because we never took a payment method.

What do I get on the free server?

A 2 GB RAM server for up to 5 players with 10 GB of storage, running on shared trial hardware. You get the full panel: live console, file manager, one-click version and mod installs, backups, and a free join address you can share with friends.

What happens when the 2 days end?

The server pauses and your world is saved for 7 more days. Upgrade to any paid plan (from $6.99/month) and you keep the same world, settings and join address on full reserved resources. You can also download your world backup from the panel during the trial — no lock-in.

Can I run mods or modpacks on the free trial?

Yes — the trial supports the same server types as paid plans (Paper, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and more) with one-click mod installs from the panel. Be realistic about 2 GB of RAM though: vanilla and light mod setups run fine, but heavy modpacks like ATM or RLCraft need 6–8 GB, which means a paid plan.

Can Bedrock players join the free server?

Yes. Crossplay is one toggle in the settings: Java players join normally, and Bedrock players on phones, tablets and consoles join through GeyserMC on the same world.

Is there Minecraft server hosting that's free forever?

Yes — Aternos, Minehut and FalixNodes run genuinely free-forever servers, funded by ads and upgrades. The trade-offs are queues at peak times, servers that sleep when nobody is online, and limited performance. If $0 forever is the requirement, those are the honest picks — our free trial is for testing what a paid-grade server feels like before spending anything.

Why is the free trial only 2 days?

Because we don't fund free servers with ads or queues. Free-forever hosts cover their hardware costs by making you wait and watch ads; we'd rather give you a real server at full speed for 2 days than a throttled one forever. One trial per account keeps it fair.

Two days. Zero excuses.

A real server for you and 4 friends, live in under a minute. No card, no queue, nothing to cancel.
